About me..

I am a lecturer in Electrical Engineering at Deakin University. I have completed my PhD in Engineering with a specialization in wireless communications in 2015 from the Australian National University (ANU). I have completed B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2009 from Bangladesh University of Engineering and technology (BUET) where I also worked as a Lecturer between 2009 and 2010. I worked as a tutor/lab demonstrator at ANU from 2013 to 2015. In March 2016, I joined Deakin University as a lecturer, where I am teaching Industrial Automation, Energy Efficiency and Demand Management. My research interests include energy management, internet of things, cooperative communication, D2D communication, microgrid,  and smart grid communication.

I have been an active member of IEEE, IEEE Communications Society and IEEE Women in Engineering from 2009. I am working as the chapter advisor for IEEE IAS student branch at Deakin University. I am the vice chair for IEEE Power and Energy Society (Victorian Chapter) and the treasurer for IEEE Industry Applications Society (Victorian Chapter). I have been one of the technical program committee chairs for Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUPEC) 2017. I serve as a reviewer of highly reputed IEEE conferences and journal papers. For my research activities, I have achieved the 2012-2013 IEEE Australia Council student paper award in WIE category. I have achieved Future Women Leaders Award from Monash University in 2017. I have been accredited as an associate fellow of the UK based 'Higher Education Academy.'
