I am an economist who specializes in finance, asset pricing, and applied econometrics. I am a senior financial economist in the Regulatory Analysis Section within the Division of Insurance and Research at the FDIC. I design and draft the cost-benefit analysis for proposed rulemakings.
Previously, I was a senior financial economist in the Office of Economic and Risk Analysis (previously known as the Center for Economic Analysis) at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), an independent regulator of accounting firms. I conducted post-implementation reviews (also known as impact evaluations, retrospective reviews or cost-benefit analyses) of the PCAOB's rules and standards.
Prior to joining the PCAOB, I was a researcher in the Office of the Chief Economist at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to that I worked at Analysis Group, a litigation consulting firm, where I assisted experts by conducting economic analysis and estimating damages in patent infringement and securities litigation.
I received my Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, San Diego; and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in economics from Purdue University.
