MAMA DON'T LET ME DROWN AWAY

I WAS FORBIDDEN TO DREAM BUT YOU TAUGHT ME HOW TO FLY,
YOU GAVE ME YOUR SMILE WHEN I WAS MEANT TO CRY.
LIFE HAD TO BE GAPING HOLES,
WHEN YOU STRENGTHENED ME FOR EVEN MORE COARSE.

WORDS ARE LOST AS THEY COME ABOUT,
THE TEARS DRY OUT AS THE EYES SEARCH YOU ALL AROUND.
I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU ARE TODAY,
SOMETIMES I WONDER WHY I AM SO FAR AWAY.
I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU THAT I HAVE FALLEN SO ALONE,
I CAN JUST CRY WHEN I MISS YOU MY MY MOM.

THEY'VE CUT MY WINGS ... I'LL FALL AS A PREY,
SAVE ME MOM, DON'T LET ME DROWN AWAY.
DON'T LET ME DROWN AWAY...

I WAS JUST GIVEN A FIGHT BUT YOU MADE ME FIND MY LIFE.
YOU GAVE ME YOUR SHADE WHEN I WAS MEANT TO STRIVE.
WHEN NOBODY COULD SEE ME CRYING BEHIND THESE TEARS,
YOU TAUGTH ME TO THINK BEYOND MY FEARS.

I HAD SURRENDERED TO THIS LIFE SO TENSE AND DEPRESSED,
BUT YOU MADE ME BRAVE THIS RAGING TEMPEST.
THE GOOD TIMES IN YOUR SHADE JUST SEEM A FAIRY TALE,
THE WOUNDS YOU HAD HEALED ARE SHROUDED IN PAIN.
I'M SINKING IN THESE MEMORIES-THIS COFFIN FULL OF NAILS,
THE WOUNDS TURING RED AND FRESH .... MY SOUL MOURNS THESE REFRAINS.

I BURN IN THIS FIRE OF GUILT AND DESIRE,
HOLD MY HAND MOM, TAKE ME AWAY FROM THIS PYRE.
DON'T  LET ME GIVE IN TO THIS IRE...

WE ALL ARE A VICTIM TO REALITY, SEPERATION IS OUR MORTALITY.
SUNSHINE DOESN'T REACH ME, I'M SUNK IN THIS NEGATIVITY.
I'LL SACRIFICE ALL THE RAIN, FOR BEING IN YOUR LAP AGAIN.
NEVERMIND THE THUNDER, MAMA ... IT'S MY TIME TO BEAR THE PAIN.
LIKE SHIP'S SAFEST AT THE HARBOUR BUT NOT MEANT TO BE THERE,
ALLOW ME MOM...TO HAVE THE PAINS OF MY SHARE.
