About Us

We are the garden club of Stittsville, Richmond, Munster and Ashton.

Come garden with us!

The SGHS offers a program that includes regular monthly meetings (July & August excepted) with special speakers, photography competitions, flower shows, events (i.e. bus tours, garden tours), and our Annual Christmas Pot Luck Supper.

Our meetings are held at 7:30 pm at the Pretty Street Community Centre, 2 Pretty Street, Stittsville.

Our Society offers the following benefits to its members:

    • Education about horticulture through meetings, publications, workshops & seminars

    • Beautification of home and community

    • Environmental preservation and restoration

    • Promotion of quality of life through horticulture

    • Support of the provincial Master Gardener program

    • Promoting accessible gardening and gardening therapy

    • Networking

The Stittsville Horticultural Society was founded in 1962. Our floral emblem is the Lily of the Valley. Members come together to share their interest and enthusiasm in gardening. Since this is a volunteer organization, all members have an opportunity to participate in the management and direction of the Society and to participate in the special community projects sponsored by the Society. We celebrate Earth Day by Spring Cleaning our adopted sections of the Trans-Canada Trail and the Village Square Park.
