RCIA at St Francis Xavier Parish, Montmorency

For more than 25 years the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) at St Francis Xavier has changed the lives of many people who have actively chosen to follow Jesus Christ and the many people who have accompanied them on their journey. It is a challenging process that depends on God’s action through the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives. The stories of those who have taken the faith journey towards receiving the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil are inspirational and the process brings all who are involved a deeper understanding of their own faith and the presence of God in each of us.

Not only does the RCIA bring about mutual support, friendship and a strong sense of community among the group, it is primarily an invitation to enter into a deep relationship with God through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. By sharing our life story, discovering what Catholics believe and how they live their faith and reflecting on the Gospel message and its relevance for us, the RCIA process brings all participants into a close relationship with God, the St Francis Xavier Parish community and the wider Church as together we build God’s kingdom.
