St. Francis of Assisi School supports an up-to-date and active technology plan developed and monitored by the SFA Technology Committee.  The technology curriculum has at its focus the integration of technology in all areas of the school curriculum.  The Technology Standards and Benchmarks are directed by the Dioceses of Des Moines Technology Committee and implemented by the classroom teachers with support from the Technology Coordinator.
St. Francis students have access to technology in a variety of settings.  Each homeroom classroom has 3 PC stations and each Related Arts classrooms have at least one PC.  St. Francis of Assisi School also supports two computer labs as well as two mini laptop labs for student instruction.  This currently puts St. Francis of Assisi School at over 200 computers which provides excellent access for student use of technology.  Each classroom, both computer labs and Media Center are equipped with a ceiling mounted projector which will project a computer screen controlled by and interactive whiteboard, document camera and TV/Video/DVD.  SFA has a wired network throughout the building and currently has wireless access throughout the Middle School to support the two wireless laptop labs, giving direct access to the internet from every station for teacher directed research/information purposes as well as use of Web 2.0 applications.

At St. Francis of Assisi School, we are constantly striving to incorporate new and innovative technology devices and software to further support and enhance our curriculum as well as keeping students engaged and prepared for the future.  Future plans are to increase our wireless access to the entire school building and incorporating more wireless devices to augment classroom instruction.
