The August 12, 2017 General Meeting of the Science Fiction Association of Bergen County was held at Barnes & Noble in Paramus, New Jersey.  The meeting featured a presentation by science writer / editor George Musser and started at 7:30 PM to allow us to comply with the 10:00 PM close of the event as requested by our host.

The Writers' Space Salon had a better-than-expected turnout.  A number of regulars were unable to make it, so we pushed back the discussion of Research until September and instead held a free-wheeling networking discussion.  The Ice Nine discussion was headed by Pamela Webber and James Phillips and focused primarily on movies and movie soundtracks.

George Musser was our evening's speaker.  Mr Musser is an award-winning Contributing Editor to SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN and NAUTILUS and has written SPOOKY ACTION AT A DISTANCE about quantum entanglement and THE COMPLETE IDIOT'S GUIDE TO STRING THEORY.

His talk began with a slide show about quantum entanglement and other matters.  Quantum entanglement is a phenomena in which subatomic particles which are in different locations and not connected in any observable manner exhibit the same behavior.

To be continued int eh 2017 - 08/2017 Meeting Page on the website of the Association.
