Traveling and Car Parking

Traveling to the event, finding the event village and parking couldn't be easier - it's less than a minute from junction 2 of the M48.

Car parking is free for everyone. All car parking will be signed directly from the motorway junction and is withing easy walking distance of Race HQ, where there is a baggage store and changing facilities. This year we plan to re-open the Severn Bridge earlier than last year to facilitate better egress from the car park, particularly for those traveling back east towards England.

From Wales

Participants traveling from Wales on the M4 will take signs for Chepstow (M48) just after Newport. This part of the motorway will be open right up the start of the events.

From England

Those coming from England via the M5 or M4 will take signs for the M48 and Chepstow not long after the M4/M5 interchange (Almondsbury).

However, the 'old' Severn Bridge will be closed from approx. 7:45 am, specially for you. It does take quite a time to carry out a motorway closure as there are numerous cones to be set out and signs to be co-ordinated. The slip roads onto the M48 from J2 will close at around 8:00 am but other areas may well close before. Anyone arriving after the closure will need to travel to Wales on the M4 second Severn crossing, change carriageways at Magor (the first exit on the M4 after the crossing - junction 23a) and then head back along the M4, turn off on the M48 and then exit at junction 2 as for Chepstow. See the map below. Please be advised that the journey will take an extra 20 mins if using the M4 access route.

The event car park will be clearly signed from the junction 2 roundabout.

This is the route to take if coming from the East after 7:45 am. The Old Severn Bridge will be closed for the race so you'll need to travel on the Second Severn Crossing on the M4, double back at Magor Junction 23a and then take signs for M48 Chepstow.
