I.              Introduction (PowerPoint)

A.   T1 Project/Resources for Teachers of Extended Standards

B.   Review Extended Standards Internet Resources at: http://sites.google.com/site/seteachers1/home

C.   Tour the website:  http://wvde.state.wv.us/osp/supporting-literacy/ (linked to above site B)

D.   Review the literacy rubric (from above site or in teacher resources.)

Complete the literacy rubric with a student in mind. This tool can be used  to develop PLEPS in IEPS.

E.   Review APTA Samples (in Teacher Resources) (choose/create activities that follow the APTA format so that students get practice before taking the test)

II.            Go to www.boardmakershare.com

A.   Create an account. Remember to write down your user name and password!

B.   Explore possibilities of BoardmakerShare page:  Search, Help, our T1 group.

C.   Tips: Pay attention to individual authors, you may find you prefer certain people’s work and can search out their activities.

 We created the group to collect activities that address the extended standards, and  we are working toward organizing items accordingly. 

Remember to check our group for updated lessons frequently.

D.   Downloading and saving to My documents/my boards.

 1 board/1 file,  Locate “Label the Western States” activity using Search.

Use keyboard shortcuts to Use lesson:  (ctrl u) and to close lesson (ctrl d)

E.   Download and unzip a lesson  -Directions are online Directions

1.    Practice unzip with “Telling Time Interactive”

2.    Open the lesson by  first going to  (Main, #1, cover, title, etc) page

F.    Download and open .zpb file;  “Holiday Colors and Counting”.

G.   If time permits download and open “Assessment Samples”  Directions

 

III.           Assign task

Find a Boardmaker activity to match the individual student literacy rubric to a Boardmakershare activity.

 

IV.          Pass out copies of BoardmakerShare activities connected to the extended standards.

 

V.           Point out training videos at this site.
