Committee Overseeing Volunteer Services

COVS currently oversees financial support for the Yale health professional student groups serving the New Haven community and is expanding to also include coordination and support for Yale students involved in health-related community service. COVS' upcoming activities will be to review funding applications at the beginning of September and to work with Dean Angoff and the YSM Office of Student Affairs to determine funding allocations for the year.

After funding decisions are made, COVS will actively work on building a structure to promote quality, sustainability, and responsiveness in Yale health professions students' community service projects.  Some of the organizations supported by COVS work with local schools, community groups, and clinics and include the Neighborhood Health Project, the HAVEN Free Clinic, DESK, Healthy Neighbors, HPREP, RHEA and YSEP.
