Sergio Salas

I am currently  an Associate Instructional Professor at the University of Chicago.

From January 2022 to December 2022 I was a  Professor at the Department of Economics of Universidad Diego Portales, Chile. From January 2014 until December 2021, I was a Tenured  Professor at the School of Business and Economics of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile.  From 2011 to 2014 I worked as a Senior Economist at the Central Bank of Chile and in 2010-2011 as an Advisor to the Budget Office at the Ministry of Finance in Chile. I obtained my Ph.D. in Economics in 2010 from the University of Chicago. 

My professional policy experience include monetary and fiscal policy and my research areas include general equilibrium monetary models, financial frictions with heterogeneous agents and quantitative macroeconomics.
