Doctoral Internships

      The Senior University Program, founded 1997, is a community of adults coming together in a stimulating, supportive and intellectual environment.  Research, healthcare and sports programs are based on personal interests and designed for enjoyment, health, intellectual stimulation, and physical activity.  Physical, mental, and emotional natural therapeutics offered to find balance in all areas.  All individual session and classes are in an atmosphere specifically designed to respect and enrich the experience and values of senior lifelong learners.

Senior University Doctoral Internships
We offer Sports Programs, Cognitive Testing, Kinesiology, American Red Cross, Behavior and Lifestyle Change, Health Counseling Coaching, Sports and Health Management, Healthcare (Silver Sneaker) and Gerontology classes.

• We are now accepting applications for the Fall and Spring terms.
• Course Credit Internships are open to college students (graduate level) 
• Interns are responsible for travel and housing arrangements 
• Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, and weekends might be required 
• Minimum of 6 weeks participation is required
• Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (minimum of 5 hours per week required for part-time) 
• Interns must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5

Thank you for your interest in the Senior University Doctoral and Post-Doc Internship Residencies.  College graduate students majoring in Gerontology, Behavioral Health, Health Care Management and/or Sports Management related areas are eligible to apply. Sports, Health and Wellness is a trillion dollar and exciting industry.

The internship consists of teaching Senior Health classes, Weight Counseling, Health coaching, Telehealth counseling, physical, mental, and emotional natural therapeutics to find balance in all areas, team management, web marketing, media relations, promotions and Senior Health camp/clinic and Senior Games contests management. Conducts assessments and screenings with clients to evaluate their presenting problems in order to determine their needs and develop appropriate treatment plan goals and treatment plans.  Duties and projects will vary during the semester, thus, we are seeking individuals that are willing to participate in all areas of the business and who will excel within a team environment!
