I am currently a junior at the Univeristy of Georgia majoring in Early Childhood Education.  I enjoy dance, and have taken classes since I was four.  Right now I teach a ballet/tap class for 5 and 6 year olds at Alice DePass Studio of Dance in Watkinsville.  I enjoy working with kids, but some days being in a small room with 13 5-year-olds in tap shoes can be overwhelming.  I also work part-time at Creative Cookies and Creamery, where I decorate cookies and cakes.  You can view my full resume here.

In the future I would like to be a teacher in an elementary school, most likely in a 2nd or 3rd grade classroom.  I believe that the relationship a student has with his or her teacher, especially during those early years, can have a lasting impact on their lives.

I also have a passion for missions, which has led me to travel to Honduras on two trips to work in schools in the mountains of San Marcos with the college ministry at Prince Avenue Baptist Church.  I would like to have the opportunity to teach in a country like Honduras in the future, where the children need someone in their lives to show them love and acceptance.
