Workshops 2010

The 2010 Annual meeting of the Society for Economic Botany was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Xalapa, Mexico June 6-10, 2010. The Theme of the meeting was "Agrobiodiversity: lessons for conservation and local development". See www.econbot.org for more information.

The Ethnobotany Segues to Science Project was featured in the following ways within the meeting:

  1. Will McClatchey presenting on the final results of the project during the poster session with a poster titled "Enhancing STEM education through redesign of an entire degree curriculum: Ethnobiology".
  2. Faculty, staff and students who have participated in the Segues project were encouraged to give an oral presentation or a poster for this conference.
  3. Segues were a featured part of the workshop titled: "Teaching strategies to promote active learning in ethnobotany".

The 2010 12th International Congress of Ethnobiology was held at the Tin-Wis Resort in Tofino, British Columbia, Canada May 9-14 2010. The theme of the meeting was "Hishuk-ish tsawalk... everything is one, everything is connected". See http://www.tbgf.org/ice/home for more information.
The Ethnobotany Segues to Science Project was featured as part of two-day pre-conference workshop on Education and Ethnobiology.

The 2010 Society for Ethnopharmacology conference was held at the Univeristy of Castilla-La Mancha, in Albacete, Spain, September 20-25. At this meeting Segues were focused as part of an education workshop panel. There was also a poster by Will McClatchey focusing on the final results of the Segues project displayed as part of the 3 day poster session.

 

 

Comments
