PSAT/SAT Preparation Course for High School Students
Current freshman, sophomore and junior students
The Summer PSAT/SAT preparation course is designed to teach students techniques and strategies for answering questions on the verbal, written and math sections of the PSAT and SAT. The Summer PSAT/SAT preparation course for high school students is designed to begin to prepare students for the National Merit Scholarship Program (PSAT/NMSQT) as well as the SAT. Students will also receive and work using the newest College Board resource, The Official SAT Study Guide as well as other technological support including the SAT Online Course.
Students participating in the summer prep course will take a pre-test PSAT to determine each student’s gaps in knowledge. Instruction for students will be based on those gaps as well as test taking strategies particular to the PSAT and SAT.
Where: Nimitz High School, 100 W. Oakdale, Irving, TX 75060
When: PSAT Pretest: Thursday, June 7th, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Prep Course: Monday, June 11th – Thursday, June 28th
(All classes are from Monday – Friday except the last week of classes.)
Time: Session 1: 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. or Session 2: 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Sessions will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. A letter will be sent confirming your time. Students should attend all classes; however, students who cannot attend all classes will still benefit if they attend a significant number of the classes.
Follow up sessions will continue before the October administration of the PSAT and SAT. Details will be provided on the follow up sessions during the summer prep session.
In-district students: $135 Tuition
Out-of-district students: $200 Tuition
