Current Phase:
The Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the South and Southeast LA Community Plans was published on November 3, 2016. There is a 90-day comment period. Comments can be submitted until February 1, 2017 at 5:00 pm.

What's Been Done:

The New Community Plan (NCP) process began in 2007 with a land use survey of the Plan Area. This was followed by a series of Neighborhood Council and small group meetings held throughout Southeast Los Angeles to identify community concerns. (Issues & Opportunities Summary)

We then took this public input to create a concept of the NCP and had a second round of outreach to share what we learned from the community and explore potential implementation alternatives. The conceptual plan was then presented at two community-wide public workshops in October and November 2009 where we obtained additional community input. Two additional rounds of briefings with the Neighborhood Councils and interested organizations took place between August 2013 and April 2014. More recent meetings included the following:
  • Office Hours - Preview of open house materials - November 14-19, 2016
  • Open House & Public Hearings - Present Proposed Plan and CPIO and receive comments/testimony from the community (December 3rd and 6th, 2016)
Draft Plan documents are now available online at the Virtual Open House, and we welcome your comments:
