Public outreach efforts resumed in August 2013 with meetings with all 9 of the Neighborhood Councils in Southeast Los Angeles. A second round of briefings with the Neighborhood Councils and interested organizations are underway.
We are finalizing the Technical Phase of the NCP process which includes preparation of a draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to be released soon. An updated version of the Draft Plan incorporating comments received to date will also be coming soon. (Preliminary Draft Plan click here).
What's Been Done:
The New Community Plan (NCP) process began in 2007 with a land use survey of the Plan Area. This was followed by a series of Neighborhood Council and small group meetings held throughout Southeast Los Angeles
to identify community concerns. (Issues & Opportunities Summary)
We then took this public input to create a concept of the NCP and had a second round of outreach to share what we learned from the community and explore potential implementation alternatives. The conceptual plan was then presented at two community-wide public workshops in October and November 2009 where we obtained additional community input.
