Public outreach efforts resumed in August 2013 with meetings with all 9 of the Neighborhood Councils in Southeast Los Angeles. A second round of briefings with the Neighborhood Councils and interested organizations are underway.
We are finalizing the Technical Phase of the NCP process which includes preparation of a draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to be released soon. An updated version of the Draft Plan incorporating comments received to date will also be coming soon.
What's Been Done:
The New Community Plan (NCP) process began in 2007 with a land use survey of the Plan Area. This was followed by a series of Neighborhood Council and small group meetings held throughout Southeast Los Angeles
to identify community concerns. (Issues & Opportunities Summary)
We then took this public input to create a concept of the NCP and had a second round of outreach to share what we learned from the community and explore potential implementation alternatives. The conceptual plan was then presented at two community-wide public workshops in October and November 2009 where we obtained additional community input.
