SEARAME Exchange Pilot Program (SEARAMEx)

SEARAME is proud to announce the establishment of an exclusive SEARAME Exchange Program, SEARAMEx. The Exchange will provide students the opportunity to experience a medical elective in one of the following institutions, In addition, medical Deans will have the opportunity to visit neighboring countries to spend time visiting and learning from another SEARAMEx institution.

To support this exchange program, SEARAME has partnered with GEMx® (a service of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)). GEMx will provide a comprehensive system which will centralize and manage our student exchanges and provide a platform for Dean Exchanges.

This Exchange is FREE for participating institutions and to financially help support some of the students’ travel costs associated with the exchanges GEMx is providing $1,500 USD to each participating SEARAME institution. These funds can be divided between two or three students you select. In return, we ask you provide at least two visiting SEARAMEx students free accommodation during their elective.

Mrs. Elise Moore from GEMx (who is based in Brisbane, Australia) is dedicated to assisting institution with getting setup in the program and guiding institutions through the process.
