  • RDP: End of Semester statement of Interest   End-of-Semester Statement of Interest: Plug and Play Structure    Describe your interests as they stand now.   My research interests have not greatly changed but I internally feel more focused and guided moving forward with some of the specifics of my research.  I originally was interested in two different questions. Both questions were related to underrepresented student success on a public college campus.  The first question was 1.) Why are African American women performing so much higher than their male counterparts? • RDP: Historical View  Historical View - Plug & Play Structure Describe three different studies spanning the last 25 years in chronological order. Describe the connection between them. I can always change my mind and, in fact, it is guaranteed I'll revise my thinking as I learn more about research on this topic. Two possible research questions I'd like to spend the semester learning more about are..... 1.) Why are African American women performing so much higher than their male counterparts? An analysis of African American females who have earned bachelors degrees using a spiritual identity scale, racial socialization scale, and mental/emotional stability scale.    -OR- 2.) What is the influence of college admissions staff roles in the retention and graduation rates of Black Males ...
