2002 SDSL FINAL STANDINGS
PREMIERE DIVISION
ELITE DIVISION
In the quarter finals, the defending champions Enforcers easily took down the T-Bombers but ran into a brick wall in facing the first place finishing Avolanche. The Enforcers 3-Peat ended with a stunning 4 game sweep at the hands of the Avolanche. In the other quarter final the upstart AK Attack were being managed by their minor league coach as the real manager was in meetings down south. The upset of the playoffs were the Attack taking down the Junkyard Dogs in 7 games. The Dogs lost Barry Bonds, Carlos Delgado and Moises Alou in the 4th, 5th and 6th games of the series. The Attack were now set to play the BigMacs and they gave the Macs a scare as the Attack took them to the wall in a thrilling 7 game final. This set up the 2 division winners in a championship showdown. The Macs were looking for their first ever title while the Avolanche were looking for their 4th. In a thrilling back and forth series, with no team winning 2 in a row, it went down to the wire in a 7th and deciding championship game. The Macs, however, would have to wait another year as the Avolanche took home their 4th championship!
