Due to an unforeseen bankruptcy of the Maniacs franchise, the league went to a preliminary playoff round with the Junkyard Dogs receiving a bye for being in first place. The series were the Devils beating the Sluggers 4-2, the Tuggers Nuts beating the Avolanche easily 4-1 and the Big Macs losing in an upset to the Enforcers 4-2. The quarter finals were then set up as the Junkyard Dogs against the Enforcers and the Devils against the Tuggers Nuts. In another upset the Enforcers advanced to the finals for the first time as they took the Junkyard Dogs 4-2 while the Tuggers Nuts ended the Devils first ever playoff appearance in 5 games with a 4-1 series win. The final turned out anti-climatic as experience took over and the Tuggers Nuts won for their third time as they beat the Enforcers 4-2.
