Seasonal Hill Layouts

In November of 2014, we set up in a storefront at Grossmont Center in La Mesa for the holiday season.
Because we had nothing to put in the second window, we built a new table and sloping hill to display the Christmas-themed ceramic buildings that Mike had.

We landscaped the hill for use in seasons other than winter.

Here's the finished layout with a white sheet over the hill and a blanket of cotton snow around the outside:

We returned to Grossmont Center in October of 2015, just in time to set up a Halloween Hill Layout.

Followed by another Christmas Hill Layout.

The owners of Grossmont Center invited us to stay beyond the holiday season and we were delighted to set up on a more permanent basis.
Here is our 2016 Easter Hill.

The 2016 Christmas Hill featured seven ceramic cottages that were donated to the club.

And our 2017 Halloween Hill.

Santa and his sleigh graced the sky above our 2017 Christmas Hill.

Our new Grossmont Central Railroad Baldwin diesel locomotive pulls the 2017 Christmas train.

The ceramic cottages themselves draw a lot of attention.

This is the 2017 Christmas Hill viewed from inside the clubhouse.
