We are interested in the design of flexible engineering systems through mathematical modeling, optimization, decision analytic and data mining methods. Our application areas include industrial and healthcare real world applications.

Vijitashwa Pandey, PhD              

I am currently an Assistant Professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at Oakland University. I received my PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Systems Engineering working with Prof. Deborah Thurston. I have collaborated extensively with the US Army’s Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) working on design optimization of ground vehicles as well as of a smart electric microgrid. I perform research in design optimization, particularly focusing on decision based approaches to product design and finding and/or developing optimization algorithms that can help with optimal design. Applications include automotive industry in addition to more general engineering design research. Recently, I have been interested in healthcare implications of my work particularly antibiotic stewardship
