The school was conceived and founded in 1998 by Fabio Sieni and Massimo Campaioli, both Craftsmen setter of precious stones in Florence. After working as teachers in various schools of Professional Training private and public Italian and foreign, decide to open a school for vocational training, a school just like the old goldsmith shops that existed in Renaissance Florence. With many sacrifices we have succeeded with the help of many professionals who work with them. In a few years we have managed to assert ourselves against all other schools. Their winning weapon: the seriousness and professionalism of all teachers of the School. Today is considered the best Training School Goldsmith Worldwide. The school has its historical center to Florence. The home of artists and craftspeople who have made it famous throughout the world, the Toscana region today is still rich in exceptional craftsmanship, and preserves a human dimension that attracts thousands of the young and not-so-young from all parts. The school inherits the Renaissance spirit of the region.  In Florence the school's premises are at N°10 Via dei Rustici and have one big workshops, a gemmology classroom, and one classroom for design and theory lessons. Beyond to the office and the services, the school offers to the own students the free logon to Internet, with net ADSL. The workshops are equipped like manufacturing  workshops, and therefore have a sufficient amount of all the specific tools for all the students to work with, lost-wax casting ensemble, melting unit, two ultrasound cleaners and all necessary accessories and furniture. The first school in Italy to boast such facilities, since 1999 for its gemology  lessons the school has had specific gemological equipment at its disposal (microscopes, refractometers, polariscopes etc.), as well as an extensive  and constantly updated store of stones for study. The library. For both our  own students, la Scuola Perseo has set up one of the most extensive Italian  libraries dedicated to jewellery: our collection of books, manuals, catalogues and magazines from all over the world.

Precious Stone Setting Course. This course is given by two long experienced teachers, helps - in a relatively brief time - to experiment all the most used stone setting systems. Starting with metal plates the students are brought to learn how to use the tools and gems. After that the students are given semi-finished jewels given them by the best Gold-smiths in Florence. The quantity and variety of those objects, helps to see and repeat the most commonly used types of stone setting, reaching in the end those types less used. Although this course is studied for students starting at zero, it is also suited for craftsmen and stone setters who want to borden their knowledge with the newest techniques . The success of this course is garantied by the number of students who have started working with well known firms or alone. During the annual course, gemology lessons are given.

Course of Jewelry Design. Planning the organization of the course will be flexible in  order to hold account of the various levels of preparation of Students. The job will be organized so that after the first period of frequency, the students find all to the same level of preparation and produce the first concrete risults. Much importance will be given to upgrades them immaginative and creative of every participant in order to make to comprise how much is important also the smallest intuition in the planning of the jewelry.

Engraving Course. Courses, to obtain charming designs, simple and particular inscription, from the precious metal, all with the guidance of real craftsmen who have been working in the sector for many years.

Jewellery Course. This course is directed to the making of high quality objects. Six teachers has thought and put into action this course . The course includes different ways of Gold - smithing. The first, begins with basis-teaching the students, with simply made objects-how to get accuainted with the tools and various material, and how to handle the different gems and metals. The second, begins with teaching how to give shapes to the metal plates and wires, and how to make modern objects with mobile elements, and parts made with metal embossement technique. The third, is a more classical teaching, usig techniques like: Open-working (boring), Florentine style and elements constructed with metal wires. All of these notions are brought to sight of the student by rotating lessons between those teachers, in a way that he gets a complete and secure grip of the subject. This course also includes Design lessons and also Wax-working lessons.

Jewellery Open Works Course. The refinement of the jeweller's shop what for centuries makes famous Florence in the world, it is finally matter of a Scholastic Course: the Florentine (Fiorentino) style of the Jewellery Open Work. Simple and elaborate drawings, they take form under the wise hands of artisan experts. Jewellery Open Work like to nest of bee, adorned Fiorentino, realization of jewels in classical style but them always extremely carry out them, they are the matters of the Course of Jewellery Open Work.

Gemology Course. First and only Jeweller's shop School in Italy opens Un laboratory equipped perfectly with professional level tools. Kept from a qualified and expert teacher, the Corso di Gemmologia (Gemology Course) is the best opportunity to have an adequate road to be followed for dealers, shopkeepers and artisans who have what to do, for their profession with the Gemme. Kept in the Analysis laboratory, at the school itself, the course is to gauge according to the demands of the students.
Dr. Benedetta Bini:  Conferred a degree In Trained Geology I.G.I. Teacher In private schools and for Public Corporations (Tuscan area, province of Pisa, C.N.A). (of Leghorn and Volterra). COURSES: Specific for the various kinds of Gemme.
On demand: Short courses aimed at the demands of the students. Widenings with lessons always more suitable for the dealers and for the shopkeepers for the recognition of the Gemme.

Wax Casting Course. Quarterly courses, to extract from the soft wax the most fantasy filled forms to curry out in precious metals.  Modelling of the different types of wax ( hard, medium, soft, tube, slab, block); use of the saw, scalpels, files, emery-paper and spirit lamp. Soldering techniques with electric pen, bezel making for stones and settings; polishing of the wax prototype and finishing of the piece and casting with metal fusion.

Compilando il Modulo d'iscrizione e inviandolo a scuola tramite fax o e-mail unitamente alla ricevuta di pagamento per i corsi semestrali, annuali, biennali e triennali.                                                     Per i corsi brevi la quota di iscrizione è pari al 50% del costo complessivo del corso prescelto.                                                     How can I enrol…?
In order to complete the enrollment, the student must send by fax or by regular mail  to the school’s secretariat office the enrolment form completely filled put, together with a copy of the payment receipt for semestral, annual, biennal, triennal and academic courses.                                                                                                             Upon receipt of the fax, the school secretariat will confirm the enrolment and send you an enromlent certificate.

Ogni allievo deve provvedere al reperimento del proprio alloggio, mentre la scuola offre assistenza ed aiuto per questa ricerca, fornendo indirizzi di privati che affittano stanze ed appartamenti.

Dopo l'iscrizione al corso prescelto, la scuola aiuta gli studenti, fornendo indirizzi e telefono di privati che affittano appartamenti/stanze/monolocali, che gli studenti dovranno contattare direttamente.

Where will I stay? 

Is the school residential?
The school is not residential.

All students are responsible for finding their own accommodation, although the school does offer assistance in this respect by providing addresses of private individuals who rent rooms, bedsits and apartments.

After enrolment in their chosen course, the school gives out these names, addresses and telephone numbers for the students to contact directly.

Ask for the list of accommodation at the school office.



Se devo rinunciare a seguire il corso per motivi personali, potrò recuperare la quota di iscrizione?
Per le rinunce che perverranno per lettera raccomandata non oltre i trenta giorni precedenti l'inizio del corso, è prevista la restituzione del 50% della quota versata.
If I have to withdraw from the course for personal reasons, will I be able to obtain a refund of the enrolment fee?
All cancellations that reach the school by registered mail not later than 30 days before  the beginning of the course, will be entitled to a 50%  refund of the dues paid, apart of the banking or postal fees.

Beyond this deadline, no reimbursement is anticipated



Quali sono i materiali e gli attrezzi a carico degli studenti?
Con la conferma di iscrizione la Segreteria invia allo studente la lista del materiale che dovrà personalmente acquistare.

Gli studenti dei corsi di oreficeria, incassatura, incisione, devono acquistare solo gli utensili ad uso personale.

Gli allievi iscritti ai corsi di disegno dovranno acquistare solo il materiale per le loro esercitazioni (matite, compasso, squadrette, colori, etc.).
What materials and equipment do students have to pay for?
Together with the confirmation of enrolment, the school office will send students a list of materials they have to purchase themselves.

Students in the goldsmithery, stone-setting and engraving courses will only have to buy tools for their own personal use.

Students enrolled in design courses will only have to buy the materials for their exercises (pencils, compasses, squares, colours etc.).



Cosa comprende il costo dei corsi?
Le retta prevista per il corso scelto comprende la docenza, i materiali di consumo (argento e pietre) per i corsi di oreficeria ed incassatura, i servizi scolastici (assistenza per reperimento alloggi, accesso alla biblioteca scolastica, navigazione internet).
What does the cost of the course include?
The fees for the course include the teaching, consumables (silver and stones) for the goldsmithery and stone-setting courses, student services (help in finding accommodation, access to the school library, internet access)…



Cosa si intende per "agenzia formativa accreditata?
Conforme alle direttive Ministeriali in materia di Formazione Professionale, tutte le Regioni italiane hanno pubblicato le disposizioni per l'accreditamento delle agenzie formative.

Solo tali agenzie sono autorizzate a realizzare corsi per il conseguimento di diplomi riconosciuti.

Attualmente la nostra Scuola è una agenzia privata accreditata per la realizzazione di programmi per l'oreficeria e tutte le materie correlate.

What is meant by “accredited training institution”?
In compliance with Ministerial Directives regarding Professional Training, all Italian regional authorities have published the provisions for accreditation of training institutions.

Only these institutions are authorised to courses leading to the award of recognised diplomas.



Quali Diplomi, certificati ed attestati rilascia la scuola al termine degli studi?

La scuola rilascia per ogni corso frequentato un attestato di frequenza ed un diploma scolastico.

I certificati sono rilasciati solo se la frequenza ai corsi risulterà pari almeno al 90% delle ore svolte.
What Diplomas and/or certificates does the school issue upon completion of the courses?

For every course attended, the school issues a certificate of attendance and a school diploma.

The certificates are issued only if attendance is 90% or more of the overall course hours.                         



Sono un cittadino non europeo: quali documenti devo ottenere per studiare un anno in Italia?         

Per chi deve soggiornare in Italia per un periodo inferiore ai 3 mesi, consigliamo di fare un visto turistico.

Per soggiorni più lunghi i cittadini extra-comunitari devono essere muniti di VISTO di ingresso valido per un massimo di 365 giorni (1 anno).
Per ottenere il visto sono necessari:
*documenti di iscrizione che la scuola invia dopo l'iscrizione;
*passaporto valido;
*modulo da riempire direttamente presso l'Ambasciata o il Consolato  italiano nel proprio paese;
*possibilità di mantenersi agli studi in Italia (documento della Banca o carta di credito);
*assicurazione sanitaria nazionale .                                                                                                 

N.B. Il visto non può essere fatto in Italia, ma solo presso l'Ambasciata o il Consolato italiano vicino alla propria città di residenza.

Una volta arrivato in Italia il cittadino extracomunitario deve richiedere il PERMESSO DI SOGGIORNO entro 8 giorni dall'ingresso.

Per ottenere il Permesso di soggiorno sono necessari i seguenti documenti:
*il modulo di richiesta da comprare presso gli uffici delle Poste italiane
*il passaporto, o altro documento equivalente, in corso di validità con il relativo visto di ingresso, se richiesto;
*una fotocopia del documento stesso;
*4 foto formato tessera, identiche e recenti;
*la documentazione necessaria al tipo di permesso di soggiorno richiesto (certificati di iscrizione)
*Assicurazione sanitaria INA Assitalia o di altra Compagnia di Assicurazione che copra i costi di rimpatrio e assistenza sanitaria nei paesi Schengen.                                                                                                             

I am a non-European citizens: What documents do I get to study a year in Italy?
For those who must stay in Italy for a period of less than 3 months, we recommend making a tourist visa.

For longer stays non-EU citizens must have a visa for entry valid for a maximum of 365 days (1 year).
To obtain the visa you need:
- Documents that the school will send the registration after the registration;
- Valid passport;
- Form to be filled directly at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in their country;
- Ability to support herself while studying in Italy (document from the bank or credit card);
- International health insurance.
NB The visa can not be done in Italy, but only at the Italian Embassy or Consulate near their city of residence.
Once in Italy the non-EU citizen must apply for a residence permit within 8 days from the entrance.
To obtain the residence permit you need the following documents:
- The application form to buy at the offices of the Italian Post
- Passport or other equivalent document with a valid entry visa, if required;
- A photocopy of the document;
- 4 passport photos, identical and recent;
- The documentation necessary for the type of permit required (certificates of registration)
- INA Assitalia Health Insurance or other insurance company covering the cost of repatriation and health care in Schengen countries.    



Sono un cittadino europeo: devo avere un permesso di soggiorno per studiare in Italia?                      

A partire dall'11 aprile 2007 i cittadini europei che vogliono stabilirsi in Italia, o in un altro stato dell'Unione Europea, non hanno più l'obbligo di chiedere la carta di soggiorno.

Trascorsi tre mesi dall'ingresso è necessario iscriversi all'anagrafe del comune di residenza.

Per i soggiorni inferiori a tre mesi non è richiesta alcuna formalità.

Per l'iscrizione è necessario presentare la documentazione che attesti lo svolgimento di un'attività lavorativa, di studio o di formazione professionale (certificati di iscrizione della scuola).                     

I am a European citizen: I have a residence permit to study in Italy?
From 11 April 2007, European citizens who want to settle in Italy, or in another EU state, no longer have an obligation to ask for a residence permit.

After three months you must register at the entrance of the town of residence.

For stays of less than three months is not required formalities.

To enroll you must submit documentation indicating the course of employment, study or training (certificates of registration of the school).
