Welcome to my webpage.

Here I provide some of my research and written work in economics, especially in competition policy, international trade, and exchange rate modeling. These topics were part of my research during my master's studies at the Catholic University of Brasilia (UCB), my Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Brasilia (UnB), and later at the Toulouse School of Economics as a postdoctoral research fellow.

I have a long career at the Brazilian public sector, starting as an intern at the Research Institute for Applied Economics (IPEA) in 2000 and as a judicial clerk at the Superior Court of Justice in 2003. In 2007, I assumed the Auditor of Finance and Control position at the Ministry of Finance of Brazil. There I served in many capacities, first as an economic advisor at the Secretariat of Economic Monitoring (SEAE), responsible for merger analysis and competition advocacy. Then, moving from microeconomics to macroeconomics, I was Deputy Coordinator for Macroeconomic Modeling at the Secretariat for Economic Policy (SPE). Finally, back to microeconomics, I was Deputy Chief Economist at the Department of Economic Studies of CADE, the Brazilian Competition Authority.

During my career, I also had the opportunity to work in different international organizations: from 2006 to 2010, I was member of the Mercosur Trade Committee, part of the Brazilian delegation. In 2010, I joined the IMF as an intern. In 2013, I worked at the Brazilian Delegation to the WTO in Geneva, as a researcher in trade policies. From 2019 to 2022, I worked at the African Development Bank as Senior Country Economist in charge of Guinea-Bissau. Finally, in November 2022, I joined the IMF Institute for Capacity Development Macro and Fiscal division, assisting countries in developing macroeconomic frameworks and delivering training in macroeconomic diagnostics and fiscal policies.
