Aim of the Workshop
The aim of the workshop is to introduce visual programming platforms, namely, Scratch and Alice to the Mathematics teachers as fun and innovative ways for engaging students. Hands on these interactive ICT tools is a specialty of this Programme. We shall learn how to solve geometric, trigonometric and algebraic problems using these platforms.

What is Scratch/Alice?
Scratch is a visual programming language for creating interactive stories, animations, games, music, and arts, those could be shared on web. Scratch projects are fun opportunities for students to develop their understanding of important mathematical and computational concepts. Scratching encourages creativity, systematic learning and team spirit.
Alice is an advanced, object oriented platform, of the same genre that provides more control to the users.


Target Audience
The course is aimed at encouraging mathematics teachers to use ICT tools and promote creative teaching and, making learning math a fun.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of handling computer is compulsory. Programming background is not mandatory though desirable.
