Purpose: We are hosting the 9th annual “Scrapping for a Cure” crop to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Several of us are directly affected by CF. Director, Rachael McGuire, has a daughter named Kaitlyn who was diagnosed with CF when she was 18 months old.Kaitlyn fights her daily battle with CF while Rachael’s family and friends are hoping for a cure.  Tara Smith, Teri Johnson, & Anna Steinke are Kaitlyn’s aunts. Co-event chairman, Jill Worley, lost her brother to CF in 1960 when little was known about the disease. With all this time that has passed, much more is known about the disease, but there still is NO cure for CF. Funding is needed to continue the search for a cure!

   Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that prevents children’s lungs and other internal organs from working properly. Each day consists of   medicines, vitamins, chest physiotherapy, and breathing treatments. The average life expectancy today is 40 years old. CF claims hundreds 
of lives each year, and we want to put an end to this devastating disease. Through our annual ‘Scrapping for a Cure’, we can help the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation raise money to find a cure for these young children. You can find out more about CF by visiting www.cff.org.

Early Bird Special: Oct - Jan 31st

 All participants that have signed up during early bird registration will receive a free ticket to 'Early Flight to Neverland' (2 hour early admission to crop, each day). Registration form and payment need to be received by Jan 31st to qualify. On Feb 1st, we will be drawing for our early bird special giveaway. One lucky winner will receive: a one night stay at Hilton Memphis, breakfast for two, and $100 Gift Bag filled with prizes from our sponsors

Regular Registration: Feb 1st- April 6th 



Pricing:

  • Two-day rate: $140. Non-refundable deposit of $50 will reserve your seat. Full payment due March 31st. This rate includes 6ft cropping space.

  • Two-Day Share-A-Table rate$120. Croppers have the option of sharing a 6ft table with a friend. Each cropper pays $120 for their event package. This rate includes 3ft cropping space.

  •      One-day rate:         Friday rate: $85   Saturday rate: $85             -               This rate includes 6ft cropping space.

  •     Friday Night Flight: $30. Croppers that can't make it for the full day of Friday can join us after dinner for 7 hours of cropping and fun! 

Don’t fret if you aren’t able to make it for the whole weekend;

            Cropping: 

    You will have the opportunity to crop for 32 hours (early birds get 36hrs)!!! No cooking, no cleaning, no kids!!! Each cropper will have a 6’ table. Croppers have the option of signing up for the ‘Share-a-Table with a Friend’ discount and will split a table with someone they know, receiving 3’ of cropping space. This option is only available for the full two-day crop and table buddies will be set by croppers.

    There will be electrical outlets, so bring your extension cords and power strips with you!

    Due to carpeting in the hotel, we request you bring some sort of plastic covering if you plan on using paints, stains, excessively messy glues, glitters, etc. Or you are welcome to take it outside to the courtyard.

    There will be extra activities going on during cropping time, but participation is optional.

    Food: Two continental breakfasts and four meals will be provided; Friday- continental breakfast, lunch & Hilton Catered Dinner, Saturday- continental breakfast, lunch & Hilton Catered Dinner. Bottled water, coffee stations, and a water station will also be provided. You are welcome to bring your own food, snacks, & sodas, but food has to be kept in your personal hotel room or in the hospitality room. Due to hotel policy, only sealable drinks are allowed in the cropping area. The only exception being the Hilton Catered Dinners. Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks to share with others. These will be set up in our hospitality room. If you have any specific dietary needs, please mark the appropriate place on the registration form.

    Activities: Besides 32 hours of cropping, we will be offering several other events during the day. 

    Classes & Make N Takes will be available throughout both days.
      Door prize drawings will be held regularly.

      Each participant will receive a goodie bag of scrapbook products! Goodie bags will come with a few scrapbooking items, and then participants will have an opportunity to pick out additional items from our amazing vendors. Our goodie bags are always based on the generosity of our sponsors and vendors. Each year is always different.

      Contests: Participation is always optional. 
          We will have a table décor contest Friday afternoon of the event. Table décor needs to incorporate: Cystic Fibrosis, Under the Sea, and/or     Scrapping for a Cure.  We will also have a costume contest Friday evening during our 'Night Under the Sea'. Saturday we will have a special craft contest, which will be announced at the event.

          Silent Auction:

          NON- CROPPER OPTIONS: The auction will be open to non-croppers also, so feel free to invite your scrapping buddies to join you in looking over all of the wonderful items up for grabs. During this time, shopping will also be open to non-croppers! All non-croppers will need to register at the SFAC Market

          SHOPPING: We will have various vendors to satisfy your scrapbooking shopping needs. We will also have the Scrappy Sale on Friday to shop a wide variety of items from fellow scrapbookers.

           Scrappy Sale: Participants will have the opportunity to bring priced scrapbook items to sell to fellow croppers. The Scrappy Sale will be held Friday noon- midnight. Participants will need to sign up for the sale in advance but will pay for their spot at event registration; $8 for 3ft space (half table)/ $15 for 6ft space (full table).  Depending on popularity, we will try to have sale tables in the crop room, but they may have to be in the hallway. 

             Make & Takes: These are free to participants. Sign up will be available at the event.

          Event Class: This special class will be hosted by our volunteer, Teri Johnson. This class is free to all participants. Designated times will be available for participants to sign up for, making it easy plan your weekend.

          Classes: Participants will have the opportunity to sign up for dazzling classes both Friday and Saturday. Registration for the classes will be done through Facebook and emails.  Pricing will vary, and signing up early is recommended. Don’t miss out on some dazzling classes.

          Lodging: The great thing about hosting our weekend retreat at a hotel is the option of having a guest room on site for your leisure. Hilton is giving us a discounted rate of $109/room (not including taxes/fees) for Scrapping for a Cure participants. You do not have to stay at the Hilton, but if you are, you need to reserve your own room. This rate is for up to four occupants. Room options are King or two Doubles. Though the event is only Friday and Saturday, you have the option of reserving extra nights for your comfort. Please do not wait until the last minute to reserve your room, because rooms can fill up fast.
