Local Advisory

State regulations require that each school division establish a division-wide advisory committee to report to the local school board on the needs of gifted students and on the status of implementation of the county's local gifted plan, and to provide input into the GATE Program budget request each year. The Shenandoah County GATE Advisory Committee consists of parent representatives from each of the county schools, school system representatives, and community members. Advisory Committee members serve as liaisons to their schools, GATE parents, and the community, providing information and a line of communication between parents and the GATE Program.
