Rental Fees

Scouting & Guiding Groups - $6.00 per youth, per night (Effective January 1st, 2015) $20 minimum booking

All Other Organizations - $10.00 per person per night (Effective January 1st, 2015) $50 minimum booking

Single day use charged as one night fee.

Camp Crests are available at a cost of $3.00 each.

The camp can only be booked by calling Joey McCarron, Camp Manager.  Joey can be reached anytime at 902-237-5960 or campmush@gmail.com.

Only cheques or money orders will be accepted for camp rentals. Please make payable to Scouts Canada - South hore Area. Payment must be received when picking up the keys.

Every effort is made to try and maximize the use of the camp, including avoiding last minute cancellations. If your group cancels for any reason other than bad weather at a time when the camp was requested by another group, there will be a penalty charge.

If you are the first Scouting group to book the camp for a certain time-frame, you may be contacted by the registrar to see if you would be willing to share your time at the camp with another Scouting group.

The Camp Rental Agreement has a property check out form and damage report section.  Please report any issues on the form so that they can be addressed promptly.

As per the By-Laws, Policies, and Procedures of Scouts Canada “Scouts Canada properties are for the primary use of Scouts Canada membership. Third party or non-Scouting use must be limited to like organizations for the purposes similar to Scouting. Third parties must fully indemnify and hold Scouts Canada harmless with respect to the usage and provide proof of insurance with Scouts Canada named as an additional insured.”

As a result, all non-Scouting groups using Scouts Canada property must provide proof of at least two million dollars liability insurance for the organization. This proof of insurance must specifically name Scouts Canada as a co-insured member (this can be arranged through your insurance company). As well, non-Scouting groups must complete and sign the enclosed “Organizational Hold-Harmless and Indemnity Agreement”.

Non-Scouting groups that do not provide proof of insurance and the agreement properly completed will not be permitted to use the camp property.

 

Canoe Rentals:

There are 10 canoes, and 10 kayaks available for rent. The cost is $30.00 per weekend or $60.00 per week per canoe /kayak. The lessee also agrees to provide his/her credit card information as a damage deposit to be used only if all or some of the equipment is lost or damaged. Rentals include the equipment required for the safe operation of the canoes and/or kayaks and PFDs as requested.

A signed Canoe Rental Agreement and damage deposit is required before any canoes and/or kayaks will be checked out.

The water craft are to be used only on the waters of Lake Mush-a-Mush and are only to be used after sunrise and before sunset. The renting group will be aware that there are other motorized craft on the lake as well and will use appropriate caution.

 

The lessee will insure that at least one member of their group is certified or qualified in the proper and safe operation on the canoe/kayak equipment. This person will also be responsible for determining whether conditions on the lake are appropriate for use of the equipment by the group.
