Notes
Added 2.5 gallons of cold water to BP and brought to 170. Added steeping grains for 20 minutes. Removed grains let them drain through strainer and added a small cup of water to sparge the grains. Added ten or so drops of fermcap to wort just before it hit a boil, removed from heat and added 1 lb Dark DME and 3.3 lb of amber DME. Brought to boil and added NB hops for 60 minutes. Added 1 tsp rehydrated irsh moss to boil for 15 minutes. Used ice bath to chill wort, added water to make five gallons, added yeast, let rehydrate for 10 minutes, aerated and closed it up. Used Onestep to sanitize. Pitched yeast at 74 degrees.

Fermcap s was a great help in preventing boilover when added to the BP

Batch Primed with 52 grams of corn sugar. Bottled in 49 12 oz longneck brown bottles with the caps labled "60".

Nice flavor at bottling. I could really pick up on the roasted barley that I added. No hop flavor.
