SCOLA Insta-Class Files

SCOLA's Insta-Class service provides a weekly lesson based on a clip from a SCOLA news broadcast. Each lesson includes a video clip, an audio-only version of the clip, a transcript, a translation, a vocabulary list, and a short quiz. Lessons are available as .zip files to download.

You need to be on the University of Richmond network to access these files. If you a member of the University of Richmond community, you can gain access off campus by using the University's VPN.

If the .zip files that you download do not contain all of the files mentioned above, or if the links to the .zip files do not work, please contact us at our Gmail account. Our username is urglobalstudio.

At various times SCOLA has changed the way it categorizes the Insta-Class lessons by language.  For example, early lessons in Arabic, French, and Spanish were not differentiated by region or variety.  Therefore, the files labeled "French (European)" may contain examples from Canada and Africa.

As of spring 2016 all members of the University of Richmond community have access to not only the Insta-Class files but also SCOLA's live streaming service via the Boatwright Library Research Databases.  Therefore, the Studio will not be updating this site.  The files listed here, however, will remain available.
