There are eight meetings each year, on the first Friday of the month from October to May, at which members can take part in discussions of local wildlife sightings and other topics and hear speakers on a wide variety of subjects related to natural history.
In addition, there are monthly outings (nature walks), open to all members. These are usually bird walks, but occasionally other subjects are chosen (geology, mushrooms, butterflies, plants etc). The outings are publicized through the society’s monthly newsletter, ‘Marsh Wrenderings’ and on this website on the 'Events coming up' page.
The society welcomes guests to the meetings and encourages them to join the SCNHS. Those guests who do not wish to join are reminded that the society’s activities require funding and a donation would be appreciated.
