Teaching Philosophy
The brain is a muscle.  With the correct practice, we can make the brain stronger, therefore becoming smarter.  This is called a growth mindset.  We do not have a set level of intelligence, we can continue grow and learn more.  Every time we learn something new, a connection is made between the neurons in our brain.  The more we use those neurons, the stronger the connection becomes.  This means if we struggle to understand something but persevere, we have made stronger connections within our brain.  We can learn more and become smarter if we experience failure!  Failure is important!  How we handle failure is even more important.  Failure should be a stepping stone in our learning process, not the end result.  When you face failure, take the time to analyze what went well and where you need to improve.  Don't be discouraged by failure but use failure to help you find direction.
