THE CURRICULUM: HOW IT WORKS!

CHARACTER IS FOUNDATIONAL TO GOOD LEARNING.

                               OUR CURRICULUM PROVIDES THE ANSWER!

A VARIETY OF TEACHING METHODS:  The units in this curriculum are based on the nine fruits of the Spirit.  All nine units use the Bible and also provide secular literature/activities which reflect the values found in the Bible. There are poignant fictional and non-fictional stories, lectures, films, dramatization by students, small group-centered activities, music, maps, charts, art work, character sketches, memory work, poetry, creative writing, literature analysis, hands-on activities, Bible lessons, reference books' usage, biographical studies, DVD's, and many other sources and activities that maintain student interest and increase learning and implementation of the themes of the fruit of the Spirit.

LENGTH OF COURSE:  This curriculum is very flexible.  There are sufficient materials for two years of work, or material may be pulled from each unit to make a one-year course. The teacher chooses material from this extensive curriculum to teach students excellence in character.  Additionally, assignments and activities are easily incorporated into existing Bible studies and curriculum. The teacher also decides the length of each unit based upon the school calendar and curriculum.

Number of pages in each unit:

     Love - 146 pages         Kindness   - 131 pages        Self-Control - 111 pages

     Joy -   163 pages         Goodness - 205 pages         Gentleness - 147 pages

     Peace - 241 pages        Faithfulness - 141 pages     Patience - 161 page

Total pages for all nine units: 1,446

SIMPLICITY OF THE CURRICULUM:

The units in this curriculum are user-friendly.  Much of the work has been done for the instructor except for printing selected material and grading questions or tests.  Every assignment and activity has an accompanying teacher answer key.  This curriculum has been designed by two well-seasoned teachers (one thirty-six years and the other twenty-six years in the profession) who understand teachers’ needs.

GRADE LEVELS OF STUDENTS:

The curriculum is designed for students in grades 6-12.

DETAILS ABOUT THE CURRICULUM:

  • Day-by-day lesson plans tell the teacher exactly what to do:  lessons with questions and answer keys, tests with keys, and supplemental material for reinforcement of concepts.  Everything required is found on THE SCHOOL OF CHARACTER CURRICULUM CD
  • Additionally, four large, hardbound notebooks are available for purchase of the nine units if desired.
  • A complete bibliography is included in this curriculum.
  • The design of the curriculum is flexible.  Reference resources and contact information are provided for the teacher in order to purchase books, CD's, and DVD's which accompany the curriculum.
  • This curriculum may also be counted as a Bible and literature course for home schooling families.  Thus, it can actually be two courses for the price of one.  Too, experienced home schoolers can use the curriculum as a spring board to enhance individual units of study.
