onstWelcome to the Schaumburg Area Photographic Society!

Founded in 1977, the Schaumburg Area Photographic Society is dedicated to the enjoyment of photography. Our lively group offers learning opportunities designed to help members expand and improve their photo imaging and editing skills.  Programs and workshops are held on meeting nights and consist of informative speakers, how-to demonstrations and hands-on workshops.  Throughout the year there are numerous outings to desirable photographic locations.

SAPS members represent all levels of photographic expertise ranging from beginner through advanced amateur and professional.  Our friendly members always welcome newcomers and guests!  We are dedicated to helping you learn to get the most out our your photography experience whether your camera is a simple point and shoot or a pro-level instrument.

Monday Night Meeting, April 23 at 7:30

Community Recreation Center-CRC 505 N Springinsguth Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60194

Guest Speaker is  Dan Anderson
Dan Anderson, a renowned and talented photographer from Door County will discuss 3-4 photographs and demonstrate the decision making  process that turns raw images into finished prints.
Two things are important to Dan: (1) using your camera to its fullest potential and (2) examining the raw file with problem or opportunity perception in mind.
Too many photographers are satisfied too quickly in the editing process and don’t push things to the optimal endpoint.
