Frequently Asked Questions
Who can join the PTSO?
The answer is simple; you are already a member if you are a Scarlett family member, student, or member of the staff.
Does the PTSO have membership dues?
Strictly speaking, no. Dues are not mandatory but we do encourage each family to donate $25 per student so we can maintain projects
and programs presented by the PTSO and to reduce the necessity to conduct fundraising activities. If you can afford to donate more, that would be fantastic.
Are students encouraged to be involved in PTSO?
YES! Students are an important part of the PTSO team.
So, what does PTSO do?
We come together as STUDENTS, PARENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS, AND SCARLETT STAFF and work TOGETHER TO SUPPORT SCARLETT
and it's students. We support PASSION, PRIDE, AND PRODUCTIVITY!
When are PTSO meetings?
PTSO meetings are generally held the second Monday of the each month. Our meetings are held in the Scarlett Media Center
from 6:15 to 7:45pm. (To respect your time our meetings start and end on time.) Students are welcome at meetings and
encouraged to participate. Please see the PTSO Meeting Schedule for meeting dates.
I am very busy. Is there a way to still be involved?
YES! There are many ways to be involved and help. You don't have to be at every meeting. In fact, if each
person gave just 3 hours of time we would have an overflow of help. Email the PTSO president for more information.
How do I contact PTSO?
You may contact the PTSO through our PTSO president, the school principal or vice principal.
Where can I find a copy of the PTSO Bylaws?
We're glad you asked! The PTSO Bylaws are available at
