Countdown to District Conference 2017

Brothers,

As we prepare for our 57th Anniversary District Conference to be held in Orangeburg on the campuses of South Carolina State and Claflin Universities, beginning Friday, October 13, I would like to share the following with you:

Registration:

The new deadline for registration is Monday, September 25. Please visit www.scalpha.org and register online. Go to the ‘District’ hyperlink, click on ‘Conference’ hyperlink and proceed to the ‘Conference Registration’ on the right of the page. Once on the conference registration webpage you may register using PayPal.

Ladies Registration:

The Planning Committee has decided not to have Ladies Activities in a formalized manner; however, wives and other guests are welcome to attend those activities that are open to the public, such as the Public Program, the Miss Black and Gold Pageant and the Step Show Competition. Tickets for the Miss Black and Gold Pageant and the Step Show Competition are $15.00 each and maybe purchased via the website under ‘Add Additional District Conference Tickets.’

Neophyte Registration:

All brothers initiated Spring 2017 may register at no cost, since your District Conference fees were included in your IMDP fees. Take the following steps to register for the District Conference:

    • Go to www.scalpha.org, then 'click' on the Conference dropdown;

    • Click on 'Conference Registration' hyperlink to the right of the page;

    • On that page (midway down), there is an embedded hyperlink called SCDC Neophyte IMDP Registration; click on it and fill out the form and submit!

Awards:

The deadline to submit your intentions to participate in the Awards and Achievements competitions is extended to Monday, September 25. If you or your chapter will participate in awards, please take a moment and fill out the following link: www.tinyurl.com/scalphacompetes

Awards judging will be more streamlined and will take less time than in the past. If you are interested in judging the submissions for the District awards, please fill out the following link: http://tinyurl.com/judgescalpha

I am excited about our Conference and I look forward to us doing the work of Alpha while keeping with our theme: “The Urgency of Now: Community Impact & Brotherhood Unity!”
