Scagglethorpe is a small village and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England.
Scagglethorpe is located near Malton just off the A64 almost half way between York and Scarborough.
History
Scagglethorpe is derived from the Viking word Schachetorp, meaning hamlet of a man called Skakull or Skakli, as listed in the Domesday book 1086.
