(Def.) "Smart": That's us, South Bay students, teachers, and parents!
WHY BE CYBERSMART? (More Here)
  • 2012 CIPA Federal Law (Children's Internet Protection Act) Revision:
    • Now expands beyond having a school Internet Safety Policy & protective web filters to require more proactive behavior education.

  • In July 2012, SBUSD's Internet safety policy was amended to provide for the age-appropriate education of all minors about appropriate online behavior, including interacting with other individuals on social networking sites and in chat rooms, and cyberbullying awareness and response.

  • E-Rate program eligibility requires full compliance with CIPA law.

  • SBUSD teachers can access cybersafety resources at any time, and all students participate in an annual CyberSmarts Awareness Week!

Be CyberSmart, SBUSD!
