Sri Subir K. Sen (1947-2013) was a science writer and researcher. He was attached with the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Calcutta. His areas of research included the science of science and more specifically informetrics and scientometrics. With publications of over two hundred and fifty articles on various areas of science, he was a well-known popular science writer for both children and grownups. He was a prominent figure of Science Club Movement of Bengal during 1960s and 1970s. He was a member of the advisory board of the science magazine Gyan Bichitrā, published from Agartalā, Tripurā. Among the several journals he edited, mention may be made of Prakriti, JISSIInternational Journal of Scientometrics and Informetrics etc. He had also edited a number of books including Society, Politics and Culture, published by New Age Publishers.
