State Bank of Mysore Pensioners Commune (R)  is formed on 29th October, 1995, while pension scheme is being introduced in Banks. Organisation welcomes every pensioner of State Bank of Mysore as its member, irrespective of cadre or designation while in service.  The philosophy is ‘One Bank, One Pension Regulation, One benefit, One Organization’.   State Bank of Mysore Pensioners Commune (R) has retired senior officers of the Bank including former Managing Directors and General Managers as our members. 

In the Banking industry, State Bank of Mysore is the first bank to pay pension to retired Bank employees as per Pension Regulations, 1995.  On the 29th January 1996, Our President, Shri N Jagannathan alongwith Sri H S Janardhan, General Secretary, Sri C E Sunder Rao, Treasurer and Sri K P Chandrashekara Shastry received pension from the then Chairman of State Bank of India.     With the cooperation of SBM Employees’ Union and Associate Bank Officers’ Association – Unit Mysore, SBMPC has also played a lead role in increasing benefit under Retired employees Medical Benefit Scheme from Rs.30,000/- to Rs.2,00,000/-, Addition of ailments like Cataract, Introduction of Diagnostic charges, Distribution of sweet packets on Bank’s Foundation day,  Increase of Funeral expenses to Rs.15,000/-, Payment of pension to those VRS optees who had more than 19 ½ years of service (but less than 20 years of service), Payment of commutation of Compassion Allowance, Introduction and increase of quantum of reimbursement Diagnostic Charges quantum to Rs.5,500/- to retirees and Rs.1,000/- to Family Pensioners, Coordinating Court cases in respect of Payment of benefit under Regulation 29(5) and Pension based on 50% of Basic Pay from the date of retirement to 30/04/2005, Treating VRS optees as retired staff in respect of loan against own deposits, etc.  Since then, we are making best of efforts to help all those retirees who need assistance.
