A Villanelle for Those Who Noticed

Bold advertisements, flashy models, and neon lights of cities alluring
Their vivid nature enthralls the impressionable man, continuously enticed
While nature's subtle beauty remains overlooked yet enduring

As technology advanced it induced a social clamoring
A manifest destiny migration to the megacity that came with a price
Bold advertisements, flashy models, and neon lights of cities alluring

That price was countryside, conservation, climate, our new social greed immuring
Society must now act retrospectively, calling upon science to devise
While nature's subtle beauty remains overlooked yet enduring

These calls to action may be hypocritically political or maybe show a social maturing
But these ever-growing metropolises are false fronts, a fool's paradise
Bold advertisements, flashy models, and neon lights of cities alluring

Newfound green movements are reassuring
But the selfish society continues to capitalistically consume, humanity's vice
Bold advertisements, flashy models, and neon lights of cities alluring
While nature's subtle beauty remains overlooked yet enduring
