私はディデエ一家の娘のエミーディデエ一と申します。私の話を聞いてください。 一年前に初めて日本に来たとき、フランスにあるような犬を保護するシェルターが日本でもないかと思いまして、散歩など世話の役に立てればとボランティアができる施設を探しました。その結果、英語でも対応できるARKとSALA NETWORKが目に留まり、地理的な事情もありSALAを選びました。そこで柴犬ミックスのノゾミと“もののけ姫”に出てくる狼に似ているセナにハートを奪われました。 どうにか苦労をかさね、やっと奇跡的にノゾミを里子にすることができましたが、セナはもう何年間もケージ生活が続いています。今から6ヶ月前、そのころはまだNPOであったSALA NETWORKから、セナをフランスにいる両親の元へ里子にだす口頭契約をいただき、その理由で今回両親が来日しました（日本ではアメリカと同様、口頭契約は法的に認められます。）コツコツお金を貯めてわざわざセナを里子にする為に先週来日し、10年間ケージ生活をおくってきて、里親募集などのイベントには連れて行けなかったこのセナを里子として迎えるべく受け取りに来日したのです。セナと両親がお互いに慣れるように２週間の滞在予定を組んでの旅程です。 しかし、昔いたボランティアたちから聞いていたサラについての評判は、例えば犬たちが人を恐れていること、２週間のトライアル後に犬の態度を見て、そのご 家族は不向きだと判断し里親を取り消し、その家族を泣かせたことなどの悪い話は、自分の身に降りかかるまで信用しませんでした。実は今回残念ながら聞いて いたようなことが私にも起こりました。犬がケージの中で２センチもたまった尿の中で暮らしていたときも（ルカ）、犬がサラスタッフらの怒鳴り声に怯えてい たことを見ても、実際に自分たちの不幸となるまでは、私は谷野さんを信用してしまったのです。 セナの里親を希望出し最初面会したときはSALAの 獣医師も同席し、順調に話が進みました。獣医師は動物検疫所の情報など、注意点を説明してくれました。私の両親は必要な手続きを確認しセナをフランスに連 れていくべく、手配を整えていました。しかし日が経過するにつれ、この理性のないホーダーは次第に条件を増やしていきました。セナを散歩するときに後ろを 付き添い、セナが人を噛まなかったかなどを確認しはじめました（セナは人を噛んだりしないのに、３時間後に電話をしてきて”セナが人を噛んでしまった”と報 告してきたのです）。実際にその日の記録を見ると、セナと一緒に散歩をしていた別な犬が、通りかかりの人を脅かしたと記録されています。また飛行機の貨物 室ではストレスになるので、キャビンに座らせるようにとも指示をしてきました。サラからの要望は日増しに増え、この理性のないホーダーは今日突然電話 をしてきて、「セナを他の獣医に診せた（SALAの公式の獣医師とは違う、大学病院の獣医師）。最初のSALAの獣医とは違う見解で、長距離フライトでフランスまで行くと死んでしまうと、言われた」と言ってきたのです。警察と一緒に数えましたが、その日私は谷野さんに１５回電話を入れましたが、サラ側はすべて無視しました。 セナを定期健診で獣医師に診せるためにSALAに行ったとき、サラ責任者は逃げていたのか不在でした。サイン済みの必要書類をよく見ると、セナは私たちの犬になるはずなので、今日セナの件でSALAに行きましたが、一つだけ所有物（つまりセナ）の譲渡を谷野さんから私たちに移行するという書類が不足していたので、英語ができ、最終健診ができる獣医師を伴い再度SALAに行きました。そのとき谷野さんは警察を呼んだのです。 警察官は状況をよく理解してくれました。しかしほとんど書類が揃っていたにもかかわらず、所有権移動の書類がないため、サラが法律上の飼い主のままです。つまり自由に虐待ができ、行政もこの悪徳な動物団体に対し踏み込んで検証もしません。 心痛の中、セナを持ち主に返しました。セナはすでにそこで10年間生き、この先もずっと狭く暗いケージの中で十分な愛情を与えられず泣き続けるのです。他の保護されている犬たちも同じ状況です。しかし私は諦めません。 ボランティア、ご寄附をされた皆さん、なぜSALAの犬は痩せこけ、怯えるように震えそして里子に出してもらえないか分かりますか？ 判断力のあるボランティアの皆様、募金も止めましょう。多くのSALAに関係してきた方々がご存じのように、寄付金の使途は不明で、正確に申告もされていないでしょう。 SALAに いる老犬、犬たちすべてを助けてください。この団体は保護施設の資格はありません。サラは犬を盾に使い、有利に使かっています。皆様からの協力が必要です。セナを助けてください。またサラにいる犬たちを助けてください。 サラの手の中で長い間苦しんでいる犬たちに愛情を注ぎたいだけです。セナを、そして犬たちを助けてください。この知らせを広く世界に拡散してください。救えるチャンスのある動物たちは、声を上げて救ってあげましょう。SALAの犬たちを救うための嘆願書も作成します。 皆様どうぞよろしくお願い致します。A Plea For a Dog or : How SALA Refused Another Adoption | Hello. My name is Emilie And today I would like to tell you a story… my story. Upon arriving in Japan over one year ago, as I used to do in France, I decided to volunteer at a shelter to walk dogs and give as much love as possible to animals (dogs and cats alike) to a shelter i could find. The two major English-friendly shelters I found were ARK and SALA, and my choice, for transportation reasons, was SALA. There I fell in love with two dogs : Nozomi (a mix of shiba-ken) and Sena (a dog looking like the wolves in Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke). By some miracle and after a long fight, I made Nozomi my own. But there remained the problem of Sena. Over 6 months ago I made an oral contract with the head of this SALA NPO, for my parents to adopt the dog. As a reminder to our friends who are not familiar with Japanese law, an oral contract usually has the force of a written contract in this country. My parents finally came to Japan, having saved every penny to bring home a dog they already loved, who had spent 10 years in a cage, not going to any adoption fairs, because the head of the NPO, did not wish it so. We had planned a two weeks trip so they could enjoy Japan as much as possible while allowing the lovely Sena to get to know them. What happened next, was profoundly unfortunate. I never until that point wanted to believe what people – ex volunteers- had to say about her, about how the dogs are afraid of the shelter owner, the shelter refusing to allow them to adopt a dog after a two week trial for no good reason (“because of the way « the dog looked at the prospective adopter s/he would be told no »… The first time we met with the person in charge, in presence of the official vet of the NPO, everything went fine, and the vet gave us the clearance to make all the arrangements to make reservations with the animal quarantine service of Japan so my parents could leave with Sena and go back to France. But as the days passed, more and more conditions were placed on us : following us on walks to make sure the dog didn’t bite anyone (which he didn’t do but the shelter owner still made a call 3 hours later to say he did - although on the official papers it was the other dog walking with him that attacked the poor bystander), make reconfirm that the dog would have a seat in the cabin and not in the luggage area because of the stress he would have… We met all of her more and more demanding conditions, until the shelter called us out of the blue today saying that another vet (not the official vet of the NPO, no, a vet from a veterinary teaching university), who despite what the official vet had said - announced that the dog would die if he had to take a flight to France. I called her 15 times that day – I counted the numbers with the police - and Sala ignored all of my calls. When we went there that day to see the dog and try to take him to a vet for another check-up (more worried about his health than anything), the owner had fled. We went back there again today to take the dog, which, according to all the papers that had been signed so we could take him to the airport - was ours…. Ah, but we were just one missing one form, the one that transferred the property from Sala to us. So we went there and took the dog to bring him to an English speaking vet so he could do a final check…. But Sala called the cops on me. They totally understood the situation - but you see, despite all the documents given to us, without the one transferring ownership from Sala to us, Sala remains the legal owner. With heavy hearts, we gave back the dog, who has lived over 10 years in a cage -back for her to abuse him again, as all the many others…. but my fight is not over. For all of you volunteers, have you ever wondered why most of the dogs you walk are so thin or shivering or never EVER get adopted? Help us save senior dogs, all dogs actually, from this NPO, which lost its accreditation, and most of all, from this owner who takes advantage of them. We only wanted to give love to a dog who suffered all his life at her hands… help us save him, and all the others. Share with everyone you know, all over the world. Japan, like other countries, is not as pet friendly as one would think, so for every pet we could save, we should raise our voices against this. A petition is being set up.
