Speak up for libraries

If you are interested to support a rally organised on March 13th, join us and hear how the scale of cuts to public libraries are affecting people from across the country. We plan to go on the day and we hope you will be able to attend.
Rally starts at 11:30pm: Meeting point and time to be agreed.
Lobby start from 2:30pm Meeting point outside parliament.
Public libraries serve communities from a small rural village to many parts of an inner cities, where young and old can mingle and learn in an often quiet, warm and safe public space.
During the lobby of Parliament, the organisers (see website below) need local library users, campaigners and staff to show the importance of libraries in providing access to opporuntities in reading, education, listening, a quiet public space, learning, an area for child development, coupled with information and knowledge that acts as forming a strong bond and connection amongst many communities.
  • Come and attend the rally and hear high profile speakers, entertainment and films all telling the same story – libraries are a valued and vital resource.
  • Visit the 'pop up' library and see for yourself the many faces of a modern library.
  • Arrange to meet with your MP and tell them now is the time to act to protect libraries.
The rally will take place from 11.30am at Central Hall Westminster, Storey's Gate, Westminster, London SW1H 9NH. The lobby of Parliament will start at 2.30pm.
