About Us

Our Mission Statement

To open a residence in Bay County that specializes in quality end-of-life care and provides support to their loved ones by:
    • finding and working with an existing hospice agency.
Or
• building a residence with the support of the community.

Some History

Brian's House was opened in 1996 in the memory of a young man by the name of Brian Straub. An in-patient facility where people could die with dignity and a home-like setting. If someone could not be taken care of in their home, families could be sure that their loved one would be comfortable in their last days. On September 4, 2012, McLaren Health Care decided to close this facility due to finan
cial reasons.

We are a group of people who believe that a place like Brian's House is needed in Bay City. It is our mission to give this community a place like Brian's House once again.

Save Brian's House Community Group is now a Michigan Non-Profit Organization

In December, 2013 the Save Brian's House Community Group received Michigan non-profit status and has become a formal organization with membership.  Membership is open to the public and the cost is $20 for the year.  Having a membership in our Community Group allows people to
become more involved with reaching the goal of having a residence modeled after the original Brian's House that the Straub family opened in 1996.  Currently our members are working on organizing fund raising events.  As we grow, we believe the role of our members will continue to evolve.

At the Memorial/Anniversary Event in September, 2012, many people asked if they could make monetary donations to our cause.  At that time, we could not accept those generous donations.  Now, that we have the non-profit status, we are able to accept donations to help obtain the goal of having a residence modeled after the original Brian's House that the Straub family opened in 1996.

If you would like to consider becoming a member of our Group, please consider attending one of the upcoming meetings, we would be glad to answer questions you may have.  If you attend a meeting, there is no obligation to join.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can send it to:
