New Savannah Bluff Lock & Dam is in the news again.  In November, Balancing the Basin featured a story about the recent assessment of the condition of the existing dam.  In December, Congress voted to deauthorize the dam and provide limited repair funding through its Water Resources & Development Act (WRDA) update.  Learn more about this topic by visiting our SR Basin Studies Page "Water Quantity/Flow Studies".

Building up the Savannah River Clean Water Fund underway.  Local communities and stakeholders are dedicated to preservation and research of the Savannah River Watershed.

Who we are and what we do.

The SC SRBAC was formed through the efforts of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR).  The group provides input during the development of comprehensive plans and policies guiding water resources management for the Savannah River Basin.  The SC SRBAC consists of member stakeholders located throughout the Savannah River Basin.  Members include members of local and state government agencies, Clemson University, the University of South Carolina, Savannah River basin advocacy groups, local industry, and concerned citizens.

We welcome feedback and suggestions for additional information to be added to this site.  If you are interested in becoming involved or have feedback that you would like considered by the SC SRBAC, please contact us.
