Local songwriters

One really enjoyable thing about making a living as a musician is every now and then I’ll be called in for a recording session for something from a local songwriter. Throughout the past two years, I’ve been doing studio work for local songwriters JC Fetlock, Dan Zdilla, and Jessica Smucker. Something I love is that I’m occasionally called into the studio for something other than playing keyboards, like singing backup. This morning I played harmonica on a recording session. That’s nothing I can share at the moment, but I do have something else to share right now.

Last night, I appeared in the backing band of Dan Zdilla at a songwriter session. It was held in a landmark listening room in Lancaster, the very room that used to be a recording studio located in the back basement of a one-time furniture warehouse. The event was live-streamed on the Web, and it seems to have been captured well. So enjoy the music of Dan Zdilla performed live with a few of the musicians who accompany him in the studio!

Note: This video is over an hour long and also includes an opening set from another local songwriter, Steve Ward. It’s well worth the watch, so grab yourself some popcorn.
