Troubleshooting/Contact

Before Contacting the SAuBIM team view the SAuBIM - Code Calcs v2.0 videos and read below for common mistakes/issues:

For Revit 2013 Users:

SAuBIM - Code Calcs v2.0 will update your tags as it should.  Unfortunately, the Revit 2013 API does not support importing specific schedule elements and data.  Therefore, you must manually import the schedules and a room tag.  We highly recommend importing this data into your template so you will only need to do it once.

To import your data manually:

  1. Select the "Insert Tab".
  2. Select "Insert from File"
  3. Select "Insert Views From File"
  4. Navigate the following file:

    C:\Users\"Your Username"\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2013\SAuBIM-CodeCalcsv2.0.bundle\Contents\Test Project - Code Calc.rvt

  5. Check the following three schedules:
    1. "Schedule: Occupant and Fixture Load Schedule.."
    2. "Schedule: Plumbing Fixture Schedule"
    3. "Schedule: Use Group Schedule"

  6. Select OK.

  7. Now, to import the room tag simply load the following family  ("Insert" > "Load Family"):

    C:\Users\"Your Username"\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2013\SAuBIM-CodeCalcsv2.0.bundle\Contents\Room Tag - OL.rfa
Now that the data has been imported follow along with these videos on how to fully utilize SAuBIM!

Troubleshooting:
  1. "Multiple rooms have the number "x". Command Aborted." Error.

If you attempt to "Update Tags" in a Revit model that contains rooms with the same room number the update will fail.  Verify that ALL ROOMS have a unique room number before updating tags.

  2. Did you import the information into your model or template?

Using the "Update Tags" button on SAuBIM on a model that does not have the proper SAuBIM information loaded into it could cause an error.

  3. Does your model already contain SAuBIM imported information?

If you have already imported the SAuBIM information or the model already contains SAuBIM imported information (via a template) it is not necessary to use the "Import Data" button.

  4. Did you change the names of any schedules, tags, or key schedules?

Changing the names of any SAuBIM created Schedules, Tags, or Families will result in an error.

  5. Did you add, hide, un-hide, or delete any rows in any SAuBIM created schedules?

DO NOT MODIFY THE SAuBIM SCHEDULES!  Editing the schedules in ANY WAY (that included Filters, Sorting, etc...) will result in an error.  In the "Use Group Key Schedule" you are limited to adding rows and modifying the numbers or names in those cells.  DO NOT ADD ANY COLUMNS!  DO NOT DELETE ANY COLUMNS!  DO NOT HIDE OR UN-HIDE ANY COLUMNS!

The sensitivity of the Revit database and the SAuBIM database, at this moment, do not allow such edits to be made.

  6. Did you fill in all of the fields when adding a row in the Use Group Schedule?

You must fill in all of the cells in order for a new use group to work.

  7. The numbers in the Use Group Schedule used to calculate are not correct for my building code:

Update the numbers and categories based on your building code.  You can add as many rows as you would like to the Use Group schedule and change any numbers.  DO NOT add, subtract, or hide any of the columns in the Use Group schedule.
