Race instructions for 2.11.2024 race
1) EQUIPMENT
The changing rooms in the maintenance building of the ice rink are available from 9 am until the route closes. Changing clothes and taking a shower is possible. The route does not impose special requirements regarding equipment. Unfortunately, we cannot take your own drinks to the drinking stations along the route. Those who wish can take their own drinks to the 21.1 km service station at the starting point. Valuables can be left for safekeeping at the starting line.
2) ARRIVAL
The race center is located in Rauhala park. Cars should be left in the parking lot of the ice rink, at Seppäläntie 21, from where there are directions to the race center (approx. 250 m). From VT 7, take the Loviisa western exit. Drive to the intersection of Valko, where you turn right. Turn left immediately at the next intersection and continue to the T-intersection, where you turn right onto Seppäläntie. The ice rink is approx. 700 m away on the left side of the road. Leave the car in the parking lot of the ice rink. There are additional lots next to the soccer field next by the ice rink. The start line is approx. 250 m from the ice rink. If you come by bus, get off at the Loval stop (Uusikaupunki stop). Follow the signposted race route to the finish line (approx. 1 km).
3) REGISTRATION
The registration is located near the starting line, approx. 250 m from the parking lot of the ice rink. Register at the registration point. Payment for late registrants is preferably made by bank card. You will receive a bib and safety pins. There are timing chips behind the bib. Don't lose the bib or fold it! Return the bib after the run! Attach the bib to your chest or otherwise to the front of you. No bib – no time.
4) START
The start times are as follows:
11:00 hrs Marathon and half marathon
11:15 hrs 5/10 km races
14:00 hrs 1.6 km junior races
Do not enter the starting area until the previous starting group has left. Be ready at the starting area 10 minutes before the start, as last-minute announcements will be made to the runners before the start. After the start command, you can set off in peace, the clock will only start when you cross the starting line.
5) ON THE ROUTE
Follow the traffic rules and watch out for cars. The marathon/half will have traffic control at the big intersection after the start and at the Valko road crossing. In the 5/10 km race, there is traffic control at the busiest intersections and, in addition, a lead cyclist. For marathon runners, we recommend brightly colored clothing and reflectors. The turning point of the marathon route is monitored by a web camera, which can be watched in the finish area. Route maps can be found on this website.
6) SERVICE
The service stations on the marathon and half route are as follows: 5.3 km - 10.6 km - 16 km - 21.1 km - 26.4 km - 31.7 km - 37.2 km - the finish line. You can get water and sports drinks at service stations. The service stations are manned.. The service stations have hand sanitizer that you can use before taking the drink. In addition to the above, you can also get a bottled sports drink and a banana at the finish area and halfway through the marathon race. You can leave your own drinks at the 21.1 km service point, which is located near the start. The organizer does not deliver its own drinks to other service stations. On 10 km route, you can get a mug to drink at the turning point. There is no service on the 5 km route. After reaching the finish line, everyone gets a refreshment drink and a banana. You can shower in the changing rooms.
7) FIRST AID
First aid is provided in the finish area if necessary. If you have to stop, report it to the nearest service station, finish area or phone number 044 230 7415.
8) AFTER THE RACE
