About me

[October 15, 2019] I have stopped maintaining this page, and moved to snikumbh.github.io

Hi there, I am Sarvesh.

I am a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Institute of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London and MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS). I develop machine learning methods and approaches for solving problems in computational biology.

My general research interests are in machine learning methods, their interpretability and using them as tools towards understanding cellular biology better, more specifically, the regulatory aspects of the genome. Almost always, the choice of method and approach is governed by the problem at hand.

I support preprints and their usage for the faster dissemination and sharing of science. To this end, I am also an ASAPbio ambassador.

Previously, I did my PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (MPI-INF), and Saarland University, Saarbrücken, Germany. My doctoral thesis was titled "Interpretable machine learning methods for prediction and analysis of genome regulation in 3D".
