Biography
Sartaj Ul Hasan was born in a remote village in the district of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, in the northern part of India. He is working as an associate professor at IIT Jammu. Prior to joining IIT Jammu, he was a scientist at DRDO, Delhi, from February 2007 to January 2018. From September 2011 until December 2012, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, where he collaborated with Professor Daniel Panario and Professor Steven Wang. He received his Ph.D. in 2010 from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, where he was a student of Professor Sudhir R. Ghorpade. He is interested in all aspects of finite fields.

Open Ph.D. Position
I am looking for motivated students for a Ph.D. position in the area of finite fields and their applications, with particular emphasis on permutation polynomials over finite fields. Candidates with a strong background in algebra or number theory, along with a keen interest in research, are encouraged to apply.
